Bethlem Star Wrapping Paper

Bethlem Hospital was founded as a monastery in 1247, and its foundation deed required the monks to wear ‘the sign of the star’ of Bethlehem. Later, the star was worn by discharged patients as a badge of their association with the Hospital, and it was also incorporated into Bethlem’s coat of arms.
